Further to our notice issued on 25th January, 2019 regarding the requirement of rescinding U.S. Customs filings by 28th January, 2019, the ship operator, Hapag-Lloyd, advised feedback from the US Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as follows:

CBP advised that any HOLDS will be considered on a case-by-case basis upon cancellation request by consignees or brokers. Entries should be cancelled either by submitting a cancellation request in ACE to the proper port of entry (POE), or through the appropriate Center of Excellence, if an Entry Summary is already on file. Removal of entries are particularly important for any cargoes already released by Customs (1C) prior to arrival, since they would already be overdue for Entry Summary.

For Canadian Customs:

The ship operator of Yantian Express, Hapag-Lloyd, confirms the ship will not call Halifax. The ship operator will be deleting ACI for the cargo which was intended to be discharged in Halifax. If you have made customs entries or re-manifest to an A8A, you are required to contact the CBSA port of release to cancel your entry or re-manifest.
